Happy New Year! It started off great with Laura leading twenty-two family members to the Lord on New Year’s Eve. During a family gathering, they asked her to speak, something she never expected. At first, she hadn’t even intended on attending because she was the only believer and was not looking forward to the environment that she would be in. But she felt led by the Spirit to go, and she sure is glad she did! The next day, the church in Victoria got together and had a wonderful fellowship to start the New Year off. And the praise and worship team from Voz joined up with the team from Mante at Mante’s service and had a great time, as well.

That same week, we faced a huge crisis and challenge when we received word that the mother of one of the members had drunk poison that is used to de-tick cattle. She was found unconscious and arrived at the hospital in a coma. The doctors said that if she did come out of the coma, there would still be much neurological damage. But the daughter and other believers never wavered in their confession of faith, and just 15 hours later, she awoke totally healed. Since then, she has testified of what God has done in her life.

At least two new GDA’s (Grupo de Alcance, Outreach Group) have begun in Victoria this year, one with Dante and some of the guys who attended the young adult conference recently, and the other is with young teen girls, led by Dennise. The first meetings went very well, and other groups may begin any time.

Rocio, another member of the church in Victoria, is also making an impact of the lives of people in need. She told us she is giving out little booklets of the book of John provided at the church in Victoria to her patients. She also began a GDA in her grandmother’s home with 5 family members and the gardener just a few months ago. Two more people accepted Christ in Lucero’s GDA recently, and Laura has led another three to the Lord this month. In addition, Solomon led to Christ the mother of a friend who had been away from his church for a year. He later called to express his gratitude.

In all the congregations, we have been working on, compiling and teaching from a manual for leaders, providing them with basic topics and scriptures to use as they teach in various avenues. Eventually, the lessons will be typed and placed in binders for all the leaders, present and future.

After a night’s rest at the cottage, we returned to Victoria for the Sunday service. It was another very satisfying service where God reached many people at their need.

-Pedro, the brother of Don Juan (whose wife recently went to be with the Lord) is critically ill in Laredo.

-Nayeli Guadalupe, age 14, is pregnant and desires an abortion. She is a friend of a young teen at church.

-World Harvest Training Center’s Mexico Convention is scheduled for April 28, at 2:00PM.

The year has gotten off to a great start. Lots of things are going on, and there’s lots to do before the Lord returns. Thanks for running the race with us!

Yours in Christ, Jose, Jeanette, and all the co-laborers

P.S. Happy Day of Love and Friendship (Valentine’s Day) 2 John.
